How do i leave the normandy

Around the Citadel , players should have noticed several fast travel terminals that are known as Citadel Rapid Transit. By interacting with these devices, players can quickly navigate to different sectors of the Citadel, and since it's a pretty vast area, the transit system can definitely come in handy.

Once players go back to the Council and officially become a Spectre to finish off the mainline quest here, the Normandy will be opened up for Shephard. Once at the Transit system, players should choose "Wards Locations" and then "C-Sec" to be taken to the academy. From there, enter the elevator that's right in the middle of the room to be taken to the docking bay. The Normandy will be on the left-hand side of this walkway that's in front of the elevator.

In the middle of flying around space I can't imagine any situation where someone could effectively board a ship. When not in space, I suppose it's a possibility, but it sounds about as likely as a modern day terrorist boarding a jet midflight.
