Perhaps you have been thinking about this and are curious about what Catholics believe. Maybe God is speaking to you and offering an opportunity to get to know him and come into a relationship with him. The children meet after school twice a week for many weeks. They learn more about how loved they are by God who sent Jesus for each of us. There is time spent in the chapel, sharing their own stories, learning many forms of prayer, discussing passages and stories of the Bible, learning about the sacraments, and being involved in many enjoyable activities.
There is also a tour of St. Augustine Church. These weekend retreats take place all over the world in different cities in countries. There are several places in Alberta in which search retreats have been organizes, and St.
Augustine School has taken groups of students to attend these retreats. During the weekend several leaders teach lessons regarding the beliefs of the Catholic Church and living a Christian life. There is time spent singing and dancing, time for games and activities, time for reflection and time for prayer.
The students are able to take time out of their busy lives to reflect on what their identity is in Christ, and meet other people around the province who are also doing the same thing. It is truly beautiful to see the growth than can occur over one weekend, and a distinct privilege to have the opportunity to take our own students to something so powerful. It has grown from just registrants in to over 16, participants annually. YC Alberta is a weekend where students from junior high to university age come together to be spiritually challenged and changed for the purposes of God.
In the last decade, thousands of students have accepted Christ as their personal Savior and thousands more have made decisions to be bold in their faith and go deep with God.
Augustine school. We accomplish this through a number of relational opportunities. Augustine Leadership Team. SALT is essentially a youth group, open to any students in grades 9 — 12, that meets once a week on Mondays from — SALT is a group in which students can gather together to discuss the questions that they have concerning their faith, learn more about what it means to live a Christian life and be a part of a welcoming group of peers.
The students in this group learn to care for each other as a faith community. They understand that importance of supporting one another, building each other up, and encouraging each other to pursue a godly life. Every year, our school raises money for Development and Peace.
